It is interesting process when we do decided to procrastinate. Such decision that allows us
to postpone our planed scheduled for later time rooted on internal conflict of the self.
Here I am talking about psychological aspect of the self not biological one.
Internal Conflict is root of our procrastination yet, we are well prepared to deny and
avoid it by making reason or reasons.
For example When internal conflict such as depression, stress, anxiety, self doubt
is happening within self, then generate fear, anxiety, stress and self doubt unconsciously
influencing our thoughts and behaviours in which will affect our decision making process
directly or indirectly.
Mostly in academic life we are witness about this process most often, students dropping
their courses or school by making reason for themselves without recognizing that this is
procrastination in most cases and by making reason then avoiding and denying that they
Please note that I am giving example rather than generalizing because a student might
have very true reason for dropping school or just skipping a semester based on illness
or finance or family situation or just personal concern.
One very famous statement that I mostly heard and sometimes I tell myself too is:
“there is always tomorrow”, “I am tired and will do tomorrow”, “I have enough time” and list
Now how we can stop procrastination is key to our challenges in this regard.
I understand that procrastination will continue till the moment in which the self makes own
internal boundary clear in terms of time, place and internal contact.
It also is very important that we become aware of our procrastination and matter of fact it is
first essential part of conflict resolution in this matter.
