October 10 is mental health awareness day and this
is the time to change, for rejecting and put
stop on social and self- stigmatization.
Unfortunately in most society symptoms of
psychological conflicts are perceived problematic
and uncomfortable that leads to discrimination,
exclusion, isolation within social contact such as:
Family, schooling, workplace and list goes on.
And as result individual will introject such perception and
will internalize and accept it as own.
This is called self-stigmatization.
Self-stigmatization is rooted on low self-esteem and lack of confidence.
Negative effect of social and self-stigmatization will
generate fear that will interfere with individual growth
in every perspective of life.
To reject, deny and fight social and self-stigmatization we
got to believe that it is time to change for better prosper life.
Such fight will start by accepting the fact that mental illness
is like other illness that most often will be treated, controlled and stabilized.
